The PCs and their charges settled down for the night and their sleep was disturbed by a creature that came flying over their camp and crashed into some trees nearby. They could hear the sound of an animal being mauled. Farooq wasted no time going to investigate, heading directly towards whatever it was. It turned out to be a hunting chimera, who had just taken down a large buck.
Farooq tried to calm the creature but that proved un effective as it almost immediately began to burn him to cinders and chew his face off. It had a red dragon head, a lion head, and a rams head and they all wanted a piece of him. The monstrosity dealt out immense damage in the first round and Finder had to heal Bronn, who in turn had to Life Transfer a large heal into Farooq. For three rounds the creature's breath attack refreshed and blasted forth into Farooq and the same strategy was used by finder and Bronn to keep him up.
Nash fired arrow after arrow and once Finder took a break from healing Bronn, he managed to get some eldritch blasts off. Eventually the monster was defeated but the PCs were surely impressed with the amount of damage it could deal out. They had a new trophy to bring home now, and threw the chimera carcass onto the back of the cart (They had to feed Chester to make sure he didn't eat their prize).
The next day they encountered a couple of strange rock gnomes and their tinker wagon. They showed off some of their clockwork creations but Farooq was not interested and they continued on their way. By that evening they were back in Phandalin. They dropped off their stuff at the hideout and went to the Inn for dinner and drinks. Farooq once again bought everyone in the bar drinks and they settled in. Nash spent some time setting up the five travelers they rescued in contact with some dwarves from the Phandelver mines and he put forth a business proposition with Helman the chemist that they would help him start up his business if he would help supply them with potions from time to time.
The rest of the session was spend discussing what down-time activities each character wanted to achieve.
